A Few Feathered Friends
I had never been interested in photographing birds until last summer when I actually tried it for the first time. Now I am hooked! There is so much beauty in the air, but the challenge is REAL!!
EMERALD CHINNED: One of a variety of Hummingbird found Costa Rica
CRESTED QUAN: One of the large game bird of Costa Rica
REDPOLL: One of the "winter finches" of Southern Ontario
BEAUTIFUL BLUE JAY: I took a trip to Huntsville, Ontario to photograph Whitetail deer, when this jay put in an appearance to steal the show! Lucky me!
BLUE JAY: makes a sudden and unexpected appearance at the reflecting pond. I didn't quite catch its reflection, but did capture its beauty!
DOUBLE CRESTED CORMORANT: Saw these prehistoric looking beauties on what I have named "Bird Island" in Lake Opeongo, Algonquin Park!
COMMON LOON: I put on the telephoto lens to capture this beautiful nesting loon. I did not want to get too close because if spooked or feeling threatened, parents will leave the nest, abandoning their eggs.
LOON AT DAYBREAK: Unlike what you may think, this shot was taken in the wee hours of the morning. The rising sun created this beautiful backlit effect. An amazing sight!
